A good Karakoram trip starts with the right packing list. Layer up — days can be warm and evenings drop close to freezing, even in summer. A power bank, polarised sunglasses, sun cream and a refillable water bottle round out the essentials.
Sturdy, broken-in shoes matter more than anything else on this list; you'll be on uneven ground at rest stops and viewpoints most days. Pack light, since coach luggage space is shared across the group.
